MatrixStream IPTV provides the MatrixStream MX 1 HD 1080p IP Set Top Box ability to offer unlimited live TV channels and Video On Demand (VOD) programs over the Internet.

MatrixStream IPTV requires minimal bandwidth to stream high quality videos: 500 Kbps - 750 Kbps for DVD quality videos, 1.0 Mbps for HD 720p, 1.0 Mbps for HD 1080i, and 2.5 Mbps for HD 1080p. Low bit rate videos are only supported with MatrixStream MatrixCast-enabled SD video encoders, quad SD video encoders, and HD video encoders.

Streaming over unmanaged (internet) and managed network - MatrixStream MatrixCast streaming support IAB (Intelligent Adaptive Bitrate) allows the customer to experience full frame broadcast quality video without any buffering, frame drops, blurriness, or constant fading in and out. MatrixCast IAB features deliver the highest quality broadband video over the Internet. MatrixCast streaming supports both live tv and video on demand. Matrixcast is supported and compatible with all of MatrixStream products.

Android Device Support - MatrixStream fully supports Android-based devices such as smart phones and tablets. IPTV users can watch their videos on any supported Android device from anywhere that has broadband access.

Yes. Even networks with no QoS or guaranteed bandwidth. MatrixStream designed our entire IPTV software to work over any broadband network. MatrixStream IPTV is highly optimized to overcome Internet buffer issues and unstable traffic bursts. It is recommended each subscriber has at least 3 times of total video streams bandwidth available.

No. Most streaming solutions require QoS or it will not work. This means most of the streaming solutions today will not work over public Internet. Providers have to upgrade to broadband IP networks with QoS and guaranteed bandwidth to each subscriber. Otherwise, video quality will suffer greatly if bandwidth is limited.

Live TV and VOD Streaming Support over the Internet

Yes. The MatrixStream IPTV solution supports streaming for live TV broadcasts with unlimited channels and VOD streaming up to HD 1080p format.

No. Most traditional IPTV solutions with live TV channel support need QoS and WILL NOT work over the Internet. Most current Internet video solutions do not support live TV and only support download VOD. Viewers have to wait hours if not days to download HD videos.

Low Bitrate for HD

Yes. The MatrixStream solution can stream SD videos with as little as 500 Kbps of bandwidth. HD videos with as little as 1.5 Mbps of bitrate.

No. If there is limited backbone bandwidth, some video streams will be affected and viewers will get poor quality videos. In worst-case scenarios, video servers will crash in the backbone. Existing video solutions based on MPEG2 require 3.5 Mbps+ for SD and 20 Mbps+ for HD vides.
